Amazing
I love this one, it flowers non stop and I can barely see the leaves, it is like a bouquet that never dies
A favorite!
This charming species is a favorite for me. It remains compact. Leaves are dark with reddish undersides and the are the most perfect backdrop for the light silvery blue flowers that seem to be illuminated as the float over the leaves. It is undemanding regarding its care needs. You must try this one!!
Diplotricha punter #7
Love this little species violet. Arrived in great condition and even had flower buds. The light lavender flowers almost glow. Thank you Violet Barn!
Sweet, pretty, and easy to grow.
I received S diplotricha punter#7 in my previous VB order last fall. She is such a lovely plant. I adore the simplicity of her blooms. She is on her second bloom cycle right now. Very easy to care for.
Lovely pale color
The beautiful pale color of the flowers are always a delight when it blooms. One of my favorites !
Simple and old fashioned
I love this little plant. I got it in April and it has been blooming for 2 months. A very pretty, neat and old fashioned little violet with lots of blooms.
Love This Cheerful Violet
My Violet arrived full of buds. It is happily blooming away. I love the simple form of the petals, and the glowing lavendar color. It's a very cheerful plant.
S diplotricha punter #7
Wow! Right out of the shipping box this little guy seemed to have attitude with its beautiful leaves (quilted and shiny) growing every which way as if to say it was not a tame houseplant and would do what it liked! I love it. No blooms as yet, but a keeper with or without them. Cheerful and healthy.
So pretty!
One of my favorites colors. My grandmother raised beautiful violets and now I’m following in her footsteps. Easy to care for and in return so much beauty!
Beautiful leaves and Blooms!
I've been growing this beauty on top of an aquarium, so its a little warmer and more humid than other areas in the house (Willamette Valley, Oregon). It is a gorgeous little plant and I love the deep green foliage, it has bloomed a couple times but not very profusely. I love the little flowers they almost seem to glow!
Multiple crowns - great plant but I am confused
This is lovely little and very healthy plant. It came in with multiple crowns. I tried to thin them out and use them to start new plans. It went back to forming multiple crowns in a few days. I guess I will let them grow and see if this individual wants to be a trailing plant. Has anyone heard of a training strain of diplotricha????
Tough, Prolific Bloomer!
This is my favorite species. Very easy to grow and propagate, and hard to kill. It starts to bloom very young, and it seems to be almost always in bloom. Somewhat cup-shaped, light lavender flowers open up over dark green foliage. I've had this violet for years. It's supposed to be a standard violet according to First Class, but it stays small for a long time. It looks semi-mini to me, but maybe a small standard? It's compact, and remains neat.
easy growing, good blooming species
I was so happy to see species violet here and ordered several. This is one of my favorites, because of the dark foliage and the color of the flowers. It's growing well for me and blooms often
lovely foliage
First off, I'd like to say how great it is that the Violet Barn offers species violets. I have developed an interest in these and haven't found many of them from other growers. I got this about a year ago and it is very healthy looking. Unfortunately, it hasn't lived up to the description as a heavy bloomer for me. It has bloomed, but infrequently. No doubt that has to do more with my conditions than the plant. But the leaves are a lovely dark green, as shown in the picture. I guess I need to give it some bloom booster so I can enjoy the flowers!
Lovely and hardy
I've had success with St. Paulia Ionantha and S. diplotricha. I've not had success with a couple of other species. This plant, S. diplotricha, does seem to put up with growing conditions in my part of Texas, central TX. The humidity can be low and the temperatures high in the summer. I keep my thermostat at 80, and this lovely plant keeps producing very lovely light, lavender blooms. Unfortunately for me though, it does sprout multiple heads (not really suckers at the base but in the middle of the crown.) It keeps blooming though.
handsome species
The leaves are dark and ribbed, with long petioles that give the plant its wild look. My Saintpaulia diplotricha hasn’t stopped blooming since it arrived about six months ago. The blossom color is unusual: opalescent white with blue undertones. The light flowers contrast with the dark foliage. Easy grower. Prolific bloomer.
