Lyon's Midnight Sun
After somehow wiping out my entire AV collection, Midnight Sun was one of the first violet's I wanted to replace. It is such a gorgeous violet- with heavy blooms and unique foliage. How did I ever settle for the grocery store varieties? Thrilled to see the Midnight Sun has a sibling- Midnight Waves- and excited to see how they compare. Very different!
This is a very different looking violet but the blooms are amazing! Trying it again after many years!
Lyon's Midnight Sun
One of my favorite violets! Very unique ruffled foliage and gorgeous red blooms. So far it has been a very easy violet that does not require a lot of attention. I have held off re-potting per the suggestion to wait until it is not in bloom but this little plant keeps blooming. I would recommend adding this to your collection.

you see a lot of violets these days but I saw this one in person and was mesmerized . The foliage is so unique coupled with those gorgeous red blooms … I had to get one for myself ! A masterpiece of hybridization .……. don't hesitate to order !

I love this plant! The foliage is so unusual, which is a plus... then add the lovely flowers and you've got a winner! The best red I've seen.

A keeper. Truly red, despite my skepticism. As much as we really, mostly care about the flowers, the leaves are very cool & unusual. A really great plant.

Bought this plant around a month and a half ago and it is lovely. The leaves on mine aren't as ruffled as those in the picture but you can still see that they're ruffled. I also like the red reverse.
Red, Red, Red!
The best and only Red I've ever had survive. The folks that told you PowWow was tough don't know what tough is, I've killed half a dozen. Lyon's Midnight Sun is sensitive to too much moisture, but the delicious red is more than worth it. In my small opinion, the most under-rated red of the bunch, with gorgeous dark green/red-backed slightly ruffled foliage to compliment it. Sometimes hard to find, always worth the search. The firts Red I'll have in my collection.
Fantastic
I received this plant about a month ago. It is triving very well and I will have to transplant it very soon. I can't want until it begins to bloom, as I always wanted a violet with red bloom with lovely deep green foliage with red on the underside of the leaf.
