Attractive self-watering pot for those who wish to "wick" their violets. This size suitable for standard violets or larger trailers. Includes 4" (10 cm) pot, wick, and plastic reservoir (4"w x 7 1/4"h). For best results, you must use potting mix containing at least 50% perlite--like our "wicking" mix. Comes in four colors: clear, watermelon, violet, or green. Select your color below. To use, fill reservoir with water, exend wick from water in reservoir through bottom of pot into soil.

Large Wicking Pot

I use the traditional ceramic two piece pots for my old violets and read/heard about water wicking violets. I purchased one pot to look it over for quality and functionality. The unit is compact, sturdy and easy to clean and comes with two wicks. However, there were no instructions or a reference for the beginner on how to pot the plant with the two wicks correctly. There are many positive reviews for using the Violet Barn system of pots & wicking soil that plants do well, so I decided to try it with new violets I receive from VB and see how well it does in my home environment compared to the ceramic pots.
