multiflora

The "shooting star" hoya.  Large, upright grower is one of our favorites and is very easy to grow.  Large clusters of white and yellow, backward-bending, shooting star shaped blooms.  Large, thick, dark green, waxy leaves.  Upright, branching shrub.

Beautiful and Dependable Bloomer!

I've had one of these for about a year now and I absolutely love it. It blooms almost constantly, with a few weeks in between to grow leaves, but I suspect once it gets bigger that it will not even need those breaks. I have detected a very slight fragrance on warm, sunny days, but this is not a hoya grown for its fragrance. However, it also doesn't seem to produce the copious amounts of nectar that other hoyas do and thus leaves no sticky mess on furniture or floors. I move between southwest Washington State (mild and humid) and Pullman, Washington for school (hot and dry, then cold and dry) and have grown it in various light intensities and it never seems to miss a beat. It is a slower grower, but it is steady and compact, great for people who don't want a 20 foot hoya vine taking over their house!

Reliable bloomer!

While H. multiflora is a slow grower for me, its always been a great bloomer, and the blooms are reliable even under conditions of very low humidity. Lots of light is a must, though.
