Best violet soil ever!

I have used other soils for African violets, but this is the best I've used. It's light, but hold water - just the right amount for little ones as well as adults. The plants thrive on it. You won't be sorry you spent the extra money on this soil. You get a lot, and it goes a long way. It's well worth it as the plants love it. OHM

Absorbs water instantly

Coarse vermiculite is a great addition to make-your-own potting soil. Absorbs water instantly to counteract the "water repellent" tendency of peat moss. It can be hard to find vermiculite with the nice large "grains" that don't break down and get lost in the mix.
