Mini wick pot - you pick

Attractive self-watering pot for those who wish to "wick" their miniature violets.  Includes 2 1/4" (57 mm) pot, wick, and plastic reservoir (2 1/4"w x 4 1/4"h).  For best results, you must use potting mix containing at least 50% perlite--like our "wicking" mix.  Comes in three colors: rose, violet, or green.  Select your color below.  To use, fill reservoir with water, exend wick from water in reservoir through bottom of pot into soil.

Mini Wicking Pot

I use the traditional ceramic two piece pots for my old violets and read/heard about water wicking violets. I purchased one pot to look it over for quality and functionality. The unit is compact, sturdy and easy to clean and comes with a wick. However, there were no instructions or a reference on how to pot the plant with the wick correctly. There are many positive reviews for using the Violet Barn system of pots & wicking soil that plants do well, so I decided to try the system with the new mini violets I order from VB and see how well it does in my home environment compared to the ceramic pots.

No Brainer

These are hard to find and I am happy to find them here. For the miniature African Violet, it takes the guesswork out of keeping them happy. And with them being clear, you can easily see when to refill.

Simple clean solution

These are tidy with a good fit, and let you easily monitor water level, allowing bottom watering without having the pot sitting in water. Simple and perfect for doing what they do!

Back when

I grew beautiful violets...in the '80s, I recycled the 'tubs of butter and made my own wicking system. I had my own lights back then too. This system to me...is the best way to get beautiful, blooming happy violets!!

Great for starter violets or semi mini's

Love these mini wicking pots..hard to find small ones & the 2 1/2" pots with wicks work great with small starter violets & Semi Mini's I have purchased from V Barn. Only issue is being careful to pick them up from low on the container, as it is 2 pieces, joined near the center. Ordering more soon.

Love this but may not work for everyone...

Absolutely loved using some of these mini wick pots with my mini violets, although I had some mixed results. Some felt like they were slightly over-watered because I was transitioning from soil to wick watering, a process I didn't have experience with at first which was likely the result of an incorrect mixture of per-lite to soil. But after a couple of tries, they worked wonderfully!

Perfect for minis & semi-minis

Perfect for miniature violets! The wick length is good and it's a lot more conveniently sized compared to the homemade wicking setups I was using.

Perfect

I love wick watering and had my minis and micros each in pricey little wicked planters but noticed often as they grew , I had to water midweek Slowly I have moved into these wicked pots and my life is serene now I only have to water every 7-14 days and I put painters tape around so poof no algae My violets and streps are thriving and look beautiful!!! Highly recommend Donna

a little disappointing

I ordered several of these last year and have mixed feelings. Some of my violets have done well; others seem to dry out too much. Maybe the length of the wick is an issue? It's also rather difficult to get down into the bottom corners to clean the pots when algae grows.

Great Pots

I ordered three of these last year. This is the only way to go when growing african violets. I am ordering more today. I wish they would make them for the stanard violets. I just love them.

Received 2 of the clear wicking pots as a gift, Loved them, couldn't wait to order more. Will be buying more when the green & blues are available.

Nice!

I thought these might look a bit cheesy around the nice ceramic pots, but they actually look rather elegant. They raise the minis up, and I wish I'd gotten one for every semi as well, at least for while they're young. The pots they arrived in also fit the hole, so you can use them immediately. They were out of clear, so I got purples to match purple flowers, and pink to match pink.

Great for display

I Love these little reservoirs! They are great for my miniature violets and are great for displaying them. I have searched all over the internet and haven't been able to find another like these!

It Works!

I purchased two mini wicking pots in order to "sample" how they performed. Well, now I'm coming back to order more! The pots hold an ample amount of water, sits stable on my light stand, wicks are included, and the vivid color helps make my violet blooms "pop"! Thank you for a decorative AND useful product.

Really like this item

I was hesitant to order this item because it looked like it might tip over easily. I decided to try just one, and am glad I did! I found it's much more stable than I expected, and I'm not worried about knocking the plant over. It lets a semi sit at the same level as a standard, and holds enough water to last for quite awhile. I'm ordering more!
