bloodshot revisited

On the second blooming, I did indeed get some deep red blooms. They were indeed beautiful and I was delighted by the color. The leaf variegation is also quite attractive, and forms a nice rosette without grooming. The issue I still have with it is that it is very slow growing, seldom blooms, and has had only a few blooms when it does. I don't know whether it needs something ( e.g. more or less light, fertilizer, or potting mix) else in the way of care, but it's not doing all that well for me. I grow in natural light so maybe it would be happier under artificial. I hope someone has suggestions that would help.

Bloodshot

Received this plant recently. The foliage is lovely and as always from Violet Barn, well-grown and vigorous. It even had a bloom - but there was NO red in it at all. It was a dusky pink with some darker streaks. I'm hoping that as it becomes more mature I will see more red, but if I don't I will be extremely disappointed. I am going to give this 3 stars for now because it's only the color of the flower that is so wrong. I'll write a new review if the flowers start showing the deep red.
